The first fourteen volumes were published between 1793 and 1800 and contain 500 hand coloured engraved plates.

Following Curtis' death in 1800, his friend John Sims took over the editorship of the magazine. The forty-one volumes, together with the index, were published between 1801 and 1828 and contain 2375 hand coloured plates.
