Major D P R Curran born 1920 joined the Territorials "London Irish" on 8/4/39 no.4014386, commissioned to the Royal Ulster Rifles Oct. 1940 no.153416, serving with the 70th Bn until Nov.1942. Believed joined No.2 Commando. Went overseas on 10/6/44 and wounded by blast twice returning to UK in July. Returned to Europe Aug. 44 with the RUR and was severely wounded (shot in the neck) on 13/10/44 being returned to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for several weeks .
After the war he continued with the Territorials, resigning his commission 25/3/55 from the Royal Irish Fusiliers (TA).
